Custom Fields
Custom fields let you add structured data to client records beyond the built-in fields. Once created, they appear on every client in the workspace and can be filled in on the client edit panel, in testimonial forms, and viewed in the client detail panel.
Custom fields require the Growth plan or above.
Creating a custom field
There are two ways to open the custom field creator:
Go to Settings and click Custom Fields in the left navigation.
Go to My Clients, click Fields, and click Add custom field at the bottom of the column panel.
Both open the same Add custom field dialog.
Field types
When creating a field, choose one of the following types:
Text โ a single line of free text
Number โ a numeric value
Dropdown โ a list of options you define; the user picks one
Yes / No โ two-option toggle with customizable labels (default: Yes and No)
Date and time โ a date and time picker
Currency โ a number with a currency unit (Dollar, Euro, Pound, Rupee, or Dirham)
Give the field a name. The name is used as the label everywhere the field appears. Click Save field to create it.
Where custom fields appear
Once created, a custom field appears:
On the client edit panel โ you can fill in the value for each client
On the My Clients table โ as an optional column (toggle it on via Fields)
On the client detail panel under the Info tab in the Custom Fields section (only fields with values are shown)
On the Add testimonial manually form under the Client Fields section
On collection link forms โ if the field is enabled on the link's Customer Details page
Managing custom fields
Go to Settings > Custom Fields to see all workspace custom fields. Each field shows its name, type, and whether it is required.
To delete a field, click the delete icon on its row and confirm. Deleting a field permanently removes it and all values stored against it across every client.
Custom fields vs form builder fields
Custom fields created in Settings (or from the Clients Fields panel) are workspace-wide. They appear on every client and are filled in through the client edit panel or accepted from collection form submissions.
The form builder inside a collection link also lets you add up to 6 custom fields per link. These are specific to that link's form. Data submitted through that field is stored on the client record if the submission is accepted.
