Video Editor

The Video Editor lets you trim your video testimonials and set a custom cover frame. All edits are non-destructive: your original video file is never changed. Edit decisions are saved separately and applied when the video plays in embeds or previews.

Opening the Video Editor

The Video Editor is available for video testimonials once the video has finished processing. Open it from the card menu on any video testimonial card by clicking Video editor.

You can also open it from the video preview by clicking Video editor in the preview actions.

Editor layout

The editor opens as a full page. The video player sits on the left. The controls panel is on the right.

At the top of the page you will see:

  • A back button to return to your testimonials

  • The heading Edit Video with the reviewer's name beneath it

  • An Unsaved changes badge when you have made changes that have not been saved yet

  • Reset to original to clear all edits

  • Save edits to save your current changes

Timeline

The Timeline panel shows a scrubber with two handles for trim start and trim end. Drag either handle to set where the video starts and ends. The timeline displays the full duration of the original video and the trimmed length.

You can also click anywhere on the track to move the playhead to that position.

Trim start and Trim end

Below the timeline are two number inputs:

  • Start time (seconds) — sets the point where playback begins

  • End time (seconds) — sets the point where playback stops

You can type a value directly or drag the handles on the timeline. The start time must be at least 0.1 seconds before the end time.

Cover frame

The Cover frame panel sets the thumbnail shown before the video plays. Enter a time in seconds in the Poster time (seconds) field. A preview of the thumbnail at that point appears in the panel.

By default, the cover frame follows the trim start point automatically. Once you set a specific poster time, it stays fixed at that value regardless of how you adjust the trim.

Saving and resetting

Click Save edits to save your trim and cover frame settings. A confirmation appears confirming the edit was saved and that the original video is unchanged.

Click Reset to original to clear all trim and cover frame settings and return the video to its full original length. A confirmation dialog appears before the reset is applied.

Where edits take effect

Saved edits apply to how the video plays in your embeds and in the preview inside Endors. The video starts and ends at your trim points, and the cover frame is shown as the thumbnail. The original file is not re-encoded or replaced at any point.

Leaving the editor

If you try to leave the editor with unsaved changes, a dialog asks whether you want to leave or stay. Changes that have not been saved are discarded if you choose to leave.
